Mylee Gel MyGel Colour – Up My Street

Image
Product: Mylee Gel MyGel Colour – Up My Street   Who for: Anyone who loves gel nails.   First impressions: The perfect grey for me.   After one week: Perfect shine and no chipping   After one month: Not applicable   Stockists: Mylee, FeelUnique, Amazon   After trying various brands and shades I have found the perfect shade of grey for me.  This is my go-to colour and will be on my nails for the foreseeable future.  Not only is it the right pale shade but it lasts ages, is easy to take off and brilliant to apply.   Two coats are enough, and it does not streak.  Lasts more than two weeks and for me there is no glitter in it.  I am sorry but I am a woman of a certain age that thinks and feels that glitter is not for them be it in make-up or nail polish.  It is the perfect neutral that goes with anything and everything I am a person that lives in jeans, t-shirt, and hoodies.  This colour work...

SensatioNail Gel Polish - Gray Day

Image
Product: SensatioNail Gel Polish - Grey Day   Who for: Anyone who wants gel polish at home   First impressions: Great colour   After one week: Has a slight shimmer   After one month: Great coverage and long lasting   Stockists: Boots, NailPolishDirect, Superdrug   Is anyone else having difficulty in locating this range.  I know that they closed their UK website and offices in Birmingham but trying to find colours is becoming difficult.   This is a stunning grey shade that can be worn every day.  It has a silver sheen to it which makes it softer than a matte grey.  It is easy to apply, one coat gives a sheer finish, two coats give a more solid finish.  I like to apply three coats in order to give it depth and enhance the silver sheen to it.  The brush coats each nails with the correct amount of product in three simple swipes allowing you to build the colour and fill in any areas that have not qui...

OPI Nail Envy - Original

Image
Product: OPI Nail Envy – Original   Who for: Anyone who wants to improve their nails health   First impressions: Looks cloudy   After one week: Nails look healthier   After one month: Nails are stronger   Stockists: OPI, Amazon, Nail Polish Direct, Sally Beauty, QVCUK   During lockdown I noticed that my nails were suffering due to all the hand washing we are needing to do.   They were flaking more and breaking which made my fingers sore.   So, I ordered this and the original version of Nail Envy to see if they would help my nails.   And they did.   I applied this every other day for a week, took it off with an acetone free polish remover and repeated.   This version did flake or peel by the fourth day, my nails had a nice sheen on them.   I alternated with the Matte version applying one version a month.   This should be in everyone’s nail care arsenal.

Mavala Cuticle Oil

Product: Mavala Cuticle Oil   Who for: Anyone who wants to improve the health of their nails   First impressions: Like the brush applicator   After one week: Love how my nails look after using   After one month: Nails look hydrated   Stockists: Mavala, Nail Polish Direct, John Lewis, LookFantastic, Amazon   I am a former nail biter, there I said it.  When I get stressed and feel under pressure, I bite my nails not just the nails but the skin around them that I make them sore.  When I was younger, I really did bite my nails until they bled.  And who ever said getting engaged will stop you biting your nails are correct.  That is when I stopped biting them on a regular basis.  But years of being a biter have left my nails weak, ridged and do not grow very well.  My thumb nails split horizontally, my ring finger on my right hand has vertical ridges which when it gets to a certain length it splits all the wa...
