Benefit Brow Microfilling Pen

Image
Product: Benefit Brow Microfilling Pen   Who for: Anyone who wants to try microblading without the pain   First impressions: I do not think I can use this   After one week: Looks like I have had them tinted   After one month: Love it!   Stockists: Benefit, Boots, Lookfantastic, CultBeauty   As you can probably guess I am a fan of Benefit Cosmetics and like to try products when they release them.  As soon as I saw this, I knew I would like it and I do.  My brows are looking better than they did a few years ago due to the wax and tinting I have had done at Benefit concessions but due to lockdown I have not had anything done since March.  I bought this as I wanted to add structure to my brows and fill in missing areas because of age and overplucking.  This does this and more, I like the way my brows look with this, and I have used it with Gimme Brow+ and Precisely, My Brow.  This is a great foundation pr...

Benefit Easy Smokin' Eyes Palette

Image
Who for: Anyone who wants a staple eye palette that can create different looks First impressions: The shades are lovely I am just scared in which order to use them After one week: I love the ability to use the shadows separately After one month: TBC Stockists: Benefit, Debenhams, Lookfantastic, House of Fraser, CultBeauty, Boots, John Lewis I had bought this as I wanted to wear eyeshadow for a family event and wasn’t sure what I was wearing clothes wise, so I wanted a neutral eye palette, this is it.  It is a palette that should be in everyone’s arsenal as each eyeshadow can be worn individually, or as two complimentary shades or as three, but the ultimate look is as the four together.  The pigment gives you the option to have a subtle barely there or a very noticeable colour to your eyes by building up the colour.  For me this is great as I gain confidence in applying eyeshadow, I can increase the intensity of the colour that I a...

Benefit The Porefessional: Hydrate Face Primer

Image
Packaging and tube of Benefit The Porefessional: Hydrate Face Primer Who for: Anyone who wants a primer that hydrates as well as minimising pores First impressions: Looks like the original primer but has a cooling effect on the skin After one week: Skin looks great even without foundation After one month: With and without foundation my skin looks hydrated and pores are not visible. Stockists: Benefits, Boots, John Lewis, House of Fraser, Debenham, QVC UK This is a great edition to the Porefessional range.   It has all the benefits of the original Porefessional it just has the added benefit of the hyaluronic acid that provides the skin with 12 hours hydration.   Sometimes, I found the original could be a little dry, this isn’t.   As you apply it to the skin, the skin feels cool where the primer is blended into the skin.   It leaves the skin with a velvet matte finish that looks perfect without foundation and helps adhere the foundation to the s...

Benefit Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer

Image
Packaging and tube of Benefit Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer in shade 3 Who for: Anyone who wants full coverage concealer that doesn’t cake First impressions: The shade looks a little dark for me After one week: Brilliant on its own and with foundation After one month: Lasts all day and doesn’t cake Stockists: Benefit, John Lewis, Debenhams, QVCUK I am the type of person that knows she needs concealer but doesn’t know where to apply it.   When I went to have my Brow Wax and Tint with Emma at John Lewis Grand Central Birmingham, she colour-matched me and applied it to my under-eye area, nose and chin to reduce the redness.   I was impressed with how my skin look with just the concealer on.   I was surprised that she had used shade 3 on me.   I thought I would have been shade 1 or 2.   It was the Beauty Product of the Month on QVCUK.   I am glad I did.   I don’t have to wear a full face of foundation every day I can apply concealer ...

Benefit BADGal Bang 24 hour Eye Pencil - Blue

Image
Pencil and packaging of Benefit BADgal Bang 24 Hour Eye Pencil in Blue Who for: Anyone who wants an eyeliner that stays put First impressions: Lovely rich dark blue After one week: Makes my hazel eye colour more green After one month: Lasts doesn’t smudge and emphasises my eyes Stockists: Benefit, John Lewis, Debenhams I have in the past used coloured eyeliners but have always gone back to either black or brown.  I liked but not love the They’re Real Eyeliner, I found I had issues with the green, blue and purple eyeliners.  I wasted more on a sheet of tissue than I had put on my eye.  They would release product when not in use and would break off when I applied them.  When I saw that Benefit had released a new eyeliner, I couldn’t wait for my Brow Wax and Tint appointment to try it.  Emma at John Lewis, Grand Central Birmingham demonstrated the purple and blue.  I am glad that I tried the blue first as this is the colour and tex...

Benefit BADGal Bang Mascara - Blue

Image
Packaging and tube of Benefit BADgal Bang Mascara in Blue Who for: Anyone who wants volume that doesn’t drop First impressions: Very bright After one week: I like that it applies as a bright blue shade but dries to a darker blue After one month: Love the way my eyes and lashes look Stockists: Benefit, John Lewis, Debenhams I am a girl who doesn’t try coloured mascara, I always stick to black or brown but mainly black.  I love BADgal Bang and how my lashes look.  This has made me switch to coloured mascara.  You have all the benefits of BADgal Bang instead of black it is blue.  At first it applies as a bright blue as it dries it changes to a darker blue.  My lashes are separated and voluminous without looking clumpy.  The Christmas tree brush helps apply from root to tip and all the fine lashes at the inner and outer corner of your eyes.   My eyes lined with BADgal Liner in Midnight Blue witho...

Benefit Hello Happy Flawless Brightening Foundation

Image
Benefit Hello Happy Flawless Brightening Foundation Who for: Anyone who wants a flawless medium coverage that looks natural First impressions: I think it is the wrong shade After one week: Perfect After one month: Am in love with how my skin looks Stockists: Benefit, Boots, QVC UK, John Lewis, Debenhams, House of Fraser I was colour matched after having my brow waxed and tinted by Emma at Benefit Stand, Grand Central, Birmingham and thought that the colour was a little too dark for me.  But I was so wrong.  In the previous new launch of a Benefit foundation (Hello Happy) I am a shade 1 but this time I was a shade 2.  Emma applied it using a sponge but at home I apply it with a Real Techniques foundation brush (I must get a new BeautyBlender).  It goes on like a dream, isn’t patchy after a few hours wear and looks perfect in every light due to the photochromic pigments.  It reduces that the redness on my cheeks, chin and nose but the b...

Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil - Grey Updated

Image
Benefit Precisely, My Brow in Grey As I have embraced going grey – well I have been going grey since I was 11 years old.   Quick story one of my sisters, I have three older than me, found a grey hair while sitting at the dinner table at Christmas and it wasn’t a short grey hair it was the same length as my lovely dark brown hair which was below my shoulders.   One final point I stopped dyeing my hair when I shaved it all off for a charity and have kept in a pixie style since.   Right back to the review of the pencil.   The lovely Emma at the Benefit Stand in John Lewis Grand Central Birmingham had mentioned that Benefit were bringing out new pencil shades and the next time I was due for my brow wax and tint she would try this on me.   She did and I love it.   It’s Precisely my Brow so what is there not to love about it.   I just hope that in time Benefit release Gimme Brow in grey too then I will be extremely happy. The left hand eyebrow fi...

Benefit Hoola Lite

Image
HoolaLite HoolaLite Who for: Anyone who wants a paler bronzer and contour First impressions: Think it may be too pale for me After one week: Perfect multi-use shade After one month: Love it as a contour, blusher and eyeshadow Stockists:   Benefit, Boots, Debenhams I love the original Hoola shade especially in the summer but felt it was a little too dark for me in the winter.  The original is still my go-to as a contour on my face and crease of my eyes.  If I want a more natural look, I use the lite version as the main colour on my eyes and as a blusher.  Both versions of Hoola work well together and separately.  If I want a no makeup look I will use the lite version as contour, eyeshadow and blusher.  When I want a more polished natural look I will first contour with the original then the lite.  Since using the lite version I have had comments of how fresh faced I am.  Using different sized brushes give different ...

Benefit Roller Liquid Liner – Brown

Image
👀 Benefit Roller Liquid Liner in Brown Who for: Anyone who wants to create the perfect flick or line their eyes with a matte liner First impressions: The felt tip is long enough and flexible enough to create the perfect flick After one week: Love using the tip to create the perfect flick After one month: Can be used to line eyes without a flick and/or delicate or thick line Stockists: Benefit, Boots, Debenhams, John Lewis Winged Liner created using Roller Liquid Liner Again, I purchased this when I saw it on an Instagram post letting use know that it had been launched.  Most of my eyeliners in the past have been black – I ordered the brown.  I admit that I prefer a matte look to my eyes as I don’t want to draw to the redness that I permanently.  I am not the greatest at creating a flick and found that placing the felt tip where I wanted my flick I could create it easily.  The tip is also flexible so that you can draw very close t...

Benefit Roller Eye Bright Highlighter Pencil

Image
👓 Benefit Roller Eye Bright Highlighter Pencil Who for: Anyone who wants to look awake First impressions: It will be very noticeable After one week: Love it After one month: Its perfect for the inner corners Stockists: Benefit, Boots, Debenhams, John Lewis Having seen this on Instagram, I bought it from Benefits UK website.  I had bought it before I was told that I shouldn’t wear anything in my waterline which I have tried, and my eyes were red and very sensitive.  I apply it to the inner corner of my eye and had no problems. I do like this pencil – the texture is perfect if you want to blend it or leave how it came out of the bullet.  My first thought that it would be very noticeable as it has a slight shimmer, but it isn’t.  The colour seems adaptable to whatever skin tone it is applied to, again I was worried that it would be too pink for my colouring I was wrong.  It works well when my eyes are red due to irritation or from bein...

Benefit Hoola Quickie Contour Stick

Image
Benefit Hoola Quickie Contour Stick and packaging Product: Benefit Hoola Quickie Contour Stick Who for: Anyone who wants to contour their face quickly First impressions: Very dark not sure it will blend into my skin After one week: One word – brilliant After one month: I love it Stockists: Benefit, Debenhams, QVC UK I got this free when buying a copy of Elle Magazine.   I am so glad I did.   This works brilliant both under and over foundation depending on what type of finish you want.   It is easy to apply as it is a stick and blends wonderfully as it is a cream.   This is the cream version of their powder bronzer Hoola.   It works well with Hoola as a blusher and eye shadow and other powder blushers you may have.   I have tried it with liquid foundations and not powder foundations so I cannot comment on how it would work with it.   I will be buying this again as it is great to use when you want more definition and a he...

Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer

Image
Mini of Benefit They're Real Tinted Primer Who for: Anyone who wants a natural look when worn on its own or to help define and length lashes when worn underneath They’re Real or Roller Lash mascara. Stockists: Benefit, QVCUK, Boots, Debenhams This product is amazing on its own or worn underneath mascara.  I have worn this primer on its own if I want a natural look.  I must admit I am not a fan of brown mascaras, but this product changed my mind.  I have, when I wanted a more dramatic look, worn the primer then roller lash and a final coat of They’re Real.  I got compliments galore on how amazing my lashes look – someone even asked what false lashes I was using.

Benefit They' re Real Push Up Liner - Blue Update

Image
Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner - Blue Having tried this earlier in the year I finally bought it - and I am so pleased I have.  It makes the whites of my eyes look brighter and my irises look greener.  I wear this eyeliner on the days that I feel I need a pick-me-up due to not sleeping well.  I line my upper and lower waterline with Benefit BadGal Waterproof liner in Black and the Blue liner close to my upper eyelashes.

Benefit They're Real Double the Lip - Bare Affair

Image
Benefit They’re Real Double the Lip in Bare Affair I love the Lusty Rose version of this lipstick and wanted to try one of the new colours.  This is my go-to colour of the season.  I wear it almost every day that I wear make-up - eyeliner, mascara and my IT Cosmetics CC+ cream and not forgetting Gimme Brow.  I am happy to see the outside world.

Benefit Dandelion Twinkle

Image
Mini version of Benefit Dandelion Twinkle I purchased this item on an impulse.  I had seen it when I go to have my eyebrows waxed and tinted and thought it wasn’t for me – I was wrong I love it.  It is not as in your face as High Beam.  It gives the skin a lovely healthy shimmer on the tops of the cheeks.  There is a shimmer to it, but it is the shimmer that looks natural and for someone of my age is the nice shimmer not an old bat trying to recapture her youth.  I also like putting a small amount on the centre of my eyelid when I want to look more awake than I am.  A swipe under the arch of the eyebrow is fantastic at opening the eye.  If I am going for a more natural awake look I also apply a tiny amount to the inner corners of my eyes.

Benefit's QVC UK TSV

Image
; Products received: Roller Lash Mascara in Black, They're Real Double the Lip in Juicy Berry, Gimme Brow + in Shade 5, Gold Rush Blusher,  Make-up bag and Compact Mirror Make-up bag and Compact Mirror The make-up bag is a lovely glittery pink and can hold all the products received as part of the TSV plus more.  The mirror is the perfect size to see whatever area that you are touching up.  It has the same lovely glittery pink on the front and the name Benefit on the back.  It fits perfectly in the hand. They're Real Double the Lip in Juicy Berry If I am honest this is the reason why I ordered the TSV as I was not confident enough to go to a Benefit Concession/Store to purchase this colour.  I am glad I did, I love this shade as an alternative to the more neutral shades that I wear on my lips.  It is moisturising and nourishing, it does not cause my lips to peel or be dry which other brands have. Roller Lash Mascara in Black What...

Benefit Hello Happy

Image
Mini Bottle of Benefit Hello Happy Am I the only one that appreciates all the effort Benefit takes with not only the product they are making but the packaging, well laughter is the best cosmetic and I always chuckle to myself when I look at this bottle.  I chose shade 1 as it is the lightest in their range.  As I have been using UltraSun Family 30 when I leave the house I have a slight tan – don’t normally tan just go red.  I thought it might be to light for my skin tone, but this foundation is clever and adapts to the tone of your skin.  It toned down my red cheeks but didn’t hide my freckles, I hate foundations that do that, it gave my skin a healthy glow/sheen.  It’s not a matte finish or a dewy finish it is something in between and being a certain age, I thought it might be the wrong foundation for me, but I was pleasantly surprised.  It looked natural and didn’t make me look as if I was wearing foundation just a healthy version of myself....

Benefit 24hr Brow Set

Image
Bottle of Benefit 24hr Brow Setter Again, I had seen Lisa Potter Dixon use this in her make-up tutorials and had received a mini with a magazine but never had used it.  With the hot weather England had been getting I had noticed that my eyebrows were not lasting as they normal did.  This clear gel held them in place until I removed them using make-up remover.  As I am trying to grow my eyebrows back after years of over plucking, this product helped the product stay in place and condition my eyebrows.  I will be repurchasing this product.

Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil

Image
Mini of Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil  I have watched Lisa Potter Dixon’s Youtube Channel tutorials and have love the way she has used the product to define her eyebrows.  Having a gap at the front of my right eyebrow (see picture below) I have been using Browvo to help grow them back.  I have used this to draw them in.  Once completed my brows look natural.  If I feel that I don’t want to go out of the house but want to look awake and polished, this compared to the Goof Proof pencil gives the most natural looking eyebrows followed by 24hr Brow Set.  When I want to leave the house, I will put on Gimme Brow over the top to fix them in place.  I will be repurchasing this.
