*GIFTED* Dermalogica Daily Milkfoliant

I was sent this to try. I am glad I did as this is part of my weekly skincare routine now. Why weekly, well my skin is sensitive. I found that using it more than once a week makes my skin becomes more sensitive. For me this is a morning cleanse on those days when you have a little more time over skincare. I take the size of a ten pence piece and slowly add water until it creates a thick foamy paste which is luxurious. Then gently and slowly starting at the forehead in circular motions I apply it to my skin. The milky oat smell did put me off at first, but it does not linger for long. Once I have my face all covered, I massage again to pay attention to the areas that I feel need more attention, for example my chin and around my nose. I remove it using a damp muslin cloth.

Boots Ingredients Squalane Cleanser

This is a great ‘basic’ cleanser. Not being rude but it is a no-frills cleanser that does its job well.  I like to use this cleanser first thing in the morning or on those days when your skin needs tender loving care. It does not leave my skin feeling tight or dry.

BeautyBlender Solid Lavender Cleaner

I have tried the liquid and really did not get on with it. The solid version I love it. It cleans all different types of bristle, shape and density.  I even use it with a toothbrush to clean my eyelash curlers. Wet the brush and the solid soap and swirl the brush on the soap. Using the mat that is included in the tub helps you to work the soap into the bristles and dislodges any dried-on makeup easily.

B. by Superdrug Cleanse Melting Cleansing Balm

This is s great first cleanse at night to remove your makeup.  It made light work of MAC 3D mascara and eyeliner.  A small amount goes along way, it melts into an oil that can be massaged into the skin to remove any makeup.  I took it off using a muslin cloth and there was no residue left on my skin - my skin felt soft and hydrated.

Product: M.A.C. Cleansing Oil Who for: Anyone and everyone whether they wear makeup or not First impressions: Love the orangey smell After one week: Makeup is removed easily After one month: Not only makeup gone skin looks healthy Stockists: MAC Cosmetics, Boots, John Lewis I was sent this sample to try.  And I am glad I did.  The smell/fragrance is wonderful and makes it a pleasure to use.  It does not last long.  This removes makeup even three coats of waterproof mascara with ease.  I apply a small amount to my hands so that they glisten not drip with the oil.  Then I massage it into dry skin paying particular attention to my lashes to remove my mascara.  To remove it, I use a damp muslin cloth.  It leaves the skin feeling soft and hydrated without residue.  This is a great second cleanse at night and a refreshing cleanse in the morning.

TooFaced Hangover Wash Away the Day Pore-Purifying Gentle Foaming Cleanser

Image
Product: TooFaced Hangover Wash Away the Day Pore-Purifying Gentle Foaming Cleanser   Who for: Anyone who wants to gently remove makeup and excess oil.   First impressions: Lovely pink cream.   After one week: Only need an exceedingly small amount.   After one month: Skin feels and looks soft.   Stockists: TooFaced, Boots, John Lewis   This was part of the £10 Tuesday on Boots’ website and I had just finished the Fenty cleanser.  Great timing.  The first time I used it applied it all over my dry face then removed it with a muslin cloth.  BIG MISTAKE.  It took ages to remove as it foams up when water is added.  And I got in my eyes – OMD did it make them sting and were sore for hours afterwards.  It does remove make-up, but I now have to use a separate product to remove them to prevent my eyes being sore.  After a lot of trial and error I have found that the best way to use this is to put a sma...

Fenty Skin Total Cleans'r

Image
Product: Fenty Skin Total Cleans'r   Who for: Anyone and everyone   First impressions: Nice pink shade and smells of raspberry.   After one week: Skin feels soft.   After one month: Skin looks and feels healthy.   Stockists: FentyBeauty, Boots, Harvey Nichols   I bought this from Boots as part of a starter kit which had two other products with it.  My first problem with this product is how I get it out of the tube as the plastic is a little stiff for my hands to squeeze.  I wish it were a pump.  Other than that, I love cleanser.  I love the raspberry smell.  I apply it to dry skin then remove it with a damp muslin cloth.  I have found for me that this is the best way of removing my cleansers whatever the brand.  The raspberry smell does not linger, and skin feels soft and hydrated once it has been removed.  It does not irritate my dry eyes; I can use it to take my make-up off without worrying m...

CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser

Image
Bottle of CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser Who for: Anyone who wants a great morning cleanser First impressions: Thick lotion After one week: Skin feels hydrated and soft After one month: Skins looks and feels healthy. Stockists: Boots, Lloyds Pharmacy, CeraVe I like to use this as my morning cleansing or both morning and night if I have not been wearing makeup.   It is a nice thick lotion that one pump is enough to cover my face, neck and décolleté.   I have used it to remove makeup and it does, but I prefer to use it as a morning cleansing with a muslin cloth.   It doesn’t foam and is very comforting to a sensitive skin.   There is plenty of slip so that you can massage areas that need work without hurting your skin.   It can be splashed off if you don’t like using a face cloth or muslin cloth.   My skin doesn’t feel tight either straight after removing it or later in the day, which is great as some cleanser, I have used have left m...

CeraVe Foaming Cleanser

Image
Bottle of CeraVe Foaming Cleanser Who for: Anyone who has sensitive skin prone to imperfections First impressions: Thick serumy liquid After one week: Redness in acne reduced After one month: Skin feels and looks a lot better Stockists: Boots, CeraVe, LookFantastic I personally don’t use this version of the cleanser.   I gave it to my son (Medium 15yo) as he has spotty acne that can be sore and red.   The first wash with it he noticed a difference in how his skin felt and looked.   Within a week the redness of the spots had reduced.   Within a month his spots were so much less noticeable.   I know he likes this as he is quite happy to wash his face twice a day as he does it without me telling him.   He now panics if he is running out of this.

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermo Cleanser

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermo Cleanser Who for: Anyone with sensitive or reactive skin First impressions: Very milky After one week: Skin looks healthier After one month: Skin feels and looks healthier and less dry Stockists: La Roche-Posay, Boots, Lloyds Pharmacy This is part of a starter kit.  I bought this as I had noticed that my skin felt dry and tight.  It hurt and uncomfortable.  Within the first use of this I could feel the tightness and dryness ease.  Over the next few days I could see and feel a difference in my skin.  I like to remove it with a damp muslin cloth.  Its consistency is great for massaging into areas that are feeling dry or sore.  I think I have found my new cleanser.

Stockists: Merumaya I was kindly sent the Mineral Cleansing Paste by Merumaya to try.   I use this as my morning cleanse on the days that I am not going to wear makeup and as a second cleanse on the evenings I have been wearing makeup.   I wouldn’t call it a paste but a rich luxurious cream that has exfoliating particles in it.   An amount the size of a pea is enough to massage into my face, neck and décolleté.   There is a slight fragrance that does not last long.   Not only do the particles exfoliate the skin but I have noticed that they help improve the circulation of my skin.   Adding a little water enables me to massage the areas such as the side of the nose and chin whe...
