Advice on glasses

I need advice – are there any opticians reading this blog or people who know an optician?   I will explain I was born with weak eye muscles and as I got older I had to have a prism put into my glasses and with my eye condition I now wear reading glasses as well as distance.   Didn’t bother me much but I keep leaving the house with my reading glasses on as I have a habit of wearing them a lot more around the house.   I wanted transitions in my glasses too.   Hubby has need varifocals and thought I would try them as it saves me the hassle of changing my glasses when I to watch the TV or read or use the computer.   The optician where I had my eye test said I could have varifocals and transitions, but the price was not in my range, so I went to a different optician.   The new optician has told me that because of the prism I cannot have varifocals as it would not work properly.   So, I am back to having two pairs of glasses and not the one I wanted. ...

Benefit They’re Real Push Up Liner

Benefit They're Real Push Up Line and Mascara in blue I am an addict . I love all the colours of They’re Real Push Up Liner if I am honest I would love them to create/make a charcoal grey liner. Holding the tip close to my eyelashes I can draw a line – firstly to get used to it I would press along the lash line to create a thin line.   As I got more confident using the product I slowly draw a line starting from the outer corner to the inner corner of my eye.   The benefit of using this is that I don’t need to pull my eyelid taught to draw a perfect line. I have now mastered the art of the flick by using a credit card, resting the corner of the credit card on the corner of my nose, lining the edge with the corner of my eye pointing towards my eyebrow.   I love all the colours – I am currently using the purple and green.   When I had a make-up lesson at Debenhams, Grand Central I asked for the make-up artist to use the blue and as can be seen in the photo it look...

Benefit BADgal Bang Volumising Mascara

Image
Benefit's Badgal Bang Volumising Mascara I must admit I am a big fan of Benefit Cosmetics mascaras and am pleased to say that Badgal Bang has joined the list.   One word of advice, don’t poke yourself in the eye with the wand – I have done it a few times and it hurts believe me.   The brush looks like a Christmas tree which makes covering the lashes at the inner and outer corners of the eye brilliantly by using the tip of the brush.   One dip of product is enough to cover both top and bottom of both eyes. One swipe of the product along my eyelashes and they are perfectly covered.   I would suggest covering bottom eyelashes first then your top lashes and if your lashes are like mine have a cotton bud or beautyblender handy to remove mascara from your top eye lid.   I don’t use the wand vertical to apply my mascara to my bottom lashes I use it horizontally, to me it gives a better coverage and I don’t have gaps like I would if I used it vertically.   I...

Benefit Hoola

Image
The Benefit products I use regularly I try to avoid products with parabens in as I know my skin doesn’t like them but as I wear this over my foundation I have not had any problems.   I use this as a contour and as an eyeshadow if I want a quick make-up routine.   I always tap off the excess as it is a bit fark for me as I have pale skin.   After using the brush that comes with the bronzer I always use a big blending brush to make sure I have blended it all in.   This is a product that I use regularly and will re-purchase it again.   I had a make-up lesson at Debenhams and they used the Hoola Lite on me which was a better colour for me.   If the lite version isn’t available, I will buy the original Hoola.

Benefit High Brow Glow

Image
The Benefit Products I regularly use This looks very shimmery in the bullet.  It glides onto the skin smoothly and is easy to blend into the skin leaving a natural sheen to the area that the product has been applied to.  I also put a dot in the inner corner of my eyes to illuminate them and hopefully make me look more awake than I feel.  This is one of the products I regularly use when I am feeling more confident and want my family to know that I am in a good place.  I will be re-purchasing it and the other version of this.

Benefit Gimme Brow

Image
Benefit Gimme Brow The gel looks too dark on the brush and I think I have picked the wrong shade – I am using Dark 5 as my natural eyebrow colour is dark brown.  Though I have a gap at the front of my right brow and my tails are not long enough.  The right amount of product is on the brush for each brow.  Firstly, I swipe the brush against the hair growth.  Then with the hair growth.  I use the point of the brush to fill in the front gap.  I really like this, and it makes my brows look natural.  I wouldn’t leave the house even on my bad days without using this product.  Yes of course I will be re-purchasing this item as I love it and is the best eyebrow product I have used in the past – even eye shadow. Updated - I am now using the Grey

Alpha-H Balancing Cleanser with Aloe Vera

Image
Alpha-H Balancing Cleanser with Aloe Vera This is a rich cream that needs to be massaged into a wet face.  It removes all make-up including Benefit Big Girl Bang and They’re Real Push-Up Liner effectively without flaking or leaving a residue on the skin. My skin was never tight nor sore after use and I didn’t feel the need to rush to put moisturiser on.    I saw a difference in the appearance of the texture and tone of my skin, it looked brighter and healthier.    I felt confident going out without make-up on when I was having a bad day as my skin looked the best it has in some time. I would repurchase this product as my skin loved this cleanser and behaved itself when I used it.
